The sixth year Ravenclaw made her way out to the black lake, to spend some time in the sun with a book. It was a beautiful day to spend outside in the shade or well if you liked being out in the sun, out in the sun. Most of the students at Hogwarts had planned to spend the day outside, and why should Peony be any different from the rest of the students. Classes hadn't started yet, but they were close to starting. Peony didn't see why she had to go and start all the studying when classes didn't even start, more or less she spent this time reading catching up on all of the books that she wouldn't have a chance to read during the year. When she would spend most of her time studying trying to keep up her grades.
Peony didn't realize that she was walking right for the lake, her mind preoccupied with other things, like what the year would hold, and maybe just maybe if she should join the quidditch team that would make her mother happy, but that wasn't want she wanted at all for herself. If Peony had her way she would be in a band, while taking care of animals, or even studying plants. Peony sighed and took another step and fell right off the dock into the water.
Splash!
It was some cold water, and her book was now ruined good thing it wasn't a library book. Good thing she decided to wear pants instead of the school uniform, otherwise someone might have gotten a show. She wasn't to worried about it. She kicked her way back to the top. "Seriously." She said to herself and she threw her book back on top of the dock where she had just fallen off of. She moved closer to the dock, and reached for the wood planks, to pull herself up onto the dock. "On the bright side its sunny out." She said and she pulled herself up onto the dock, and laid there like she wasn't going to move an inch. She didn't plan on it, but nothing goes according to plan.

Jenna felt like a million bucks. She was going to use the rest of the autumn break before school started to wear her dress as much as possible. Jenna smiled and left the grounds, heading for the lake. It was a lovely day, and even though the autumn winds were a tad chilly on her legs, it was still a warm enough day to sun bathe, if only for an hour or two. Hiding behind her sunglasses, Jenna headed for the lake at a leisurely pace, a very lazy walk. That was, until she saw someone fall in. Gasping, and trying to control her laughter, she began to walk faster, almost jogging as the blonde pulled herself out of the lake and onto the docks. "Hey!" Jenna called. "Hey, are you alright?" The redhead laughed as she came closer to the docks. The lake must have been chilly; Jenna could practically feel the goosebumps on her arms. Now was a time she wished she was a little more steady with her Transfiguration. "Hello?" Jenna asked with a grin, standing a foot or so away from Peony.

Peony lifted her head and smiled as a redhead bobbed closer to her, to see if she was okay. Well truth was she was kind of cold, the water was cold, but she wasn't going to say that. It didn't really matter that she was cold she would eventually warm up in the sun. Peony pulled herself up into a sitting position and looked up at the girl and said "Hey, yeah i'm good. I guess that's what i get when i don't pay attention." Peony laughed because it was all really funny that she did fall in the water. She looked down at her clothes, well they were all soaked, oh well she would live, when her hair dried that would be her problem. It would frizz out and make her look like she had an afro. She quickly pulled her soaking wet hair into a pony tail, it made her colder, but it was better to be cold then with a huge afro sitting on her head.
Her mind quickly turned to the fact that she had a book with her, and she put it on the dock when she came up from the water. It was an amazement that she held on to it. She pulled the book closer to her. "Dang it." She said flipping through the pages they were soaked all the way through. It was just her luck when the pages dried they would be sticking together, and all crinkled. She didn't really want to try and fix it, but she knew that she had to. It was one of her favorite books, The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. She wasn't going to get another one. She would try to fix it if she had her wand, but of course she left it her room. She picked up the book and shook some of the water off and then looked up to the redhead and asked "You wouldn't happen to have a spell to fix the book would you?" Hoping that the girl would say yes, but knew that it was highly unlikely.

Jenna giggled as Peony mentioned not paying attention, before joining her at the dock, sitting with her legs out and crossed at the ankles. So this wasn't what she had planned on doing, but since there was another person out here, why not? Besides, the weather was perfect for socializing. Jenna cast her yellow hazel gaze back to Peony. "Well, paying some attention would have been better than just falling in, but hey we all have our off days," Jenna replied before she stuck her hand out at the blonde. "M yname is Jenna Bruins by the way. Nice to meet you."
When Peony asked if she knew a smell that would repair the book, Jenna tilted her head slightly. "Reparo," Jenna said then, pulling her wand out to point it at the drying book. "Reparo!" She said with some excitement. It didn't so much; it dried the back and front of the book and some of the pages. "Hm. Just keep repeating the spell and it would dry itself out sooner or later," Jenna said smiling.

Peony smiled and looked back out to the lake, this was how she wanted to spend her day well other than the fact that she was soaked, and her book was well ruined at the moment. She sat cross legged leaned back on her hands, letting her body soak up the sun. “Well I tend to have more off days than others, runs in the family. It’s kind of sad to have a family full of Klutz.” She said to her, and then took her hand and said “Peony Hawthorne. Please to meet you.” Her mother was a little obsessed with flowers; hence her name was a flower.
Peony listened to her, and watched her try the spell on the book, and it did dry some of it. It might take some time to get the book dry but it’s a good book. It was better then the one time she had to use a hair dryer to dry some pages. That was some exhausting work, to dry a few pages. “Thanks!” She said excitedly, but since she didn’t have her wand it was kind of pointless to try at the present moment.“Aren’t you in Hufflepuff?” She asked, knowing that she had seen the girl before, but it was hard to pin point which class they had together, and what house she was in, it really didn’t matter to Peony. The only thing that mattered was getting through Hogwarts, and maybe getting a job, doing what she had no clue.

"Oh it's not a problem! My aunt is such a klutz, we have to hide the vases and things when she comes around," Jenna blurted, giggling. Although the smile faltered; her aunt was a all-day drunk and when her husband left her, it just steadily got worse. Now her aunt rarely leaves the house, only occasionally Flooing over to Jenna's house to drink in company. Jenna brought her smile back full force though, not wanting to let her new friend wonder if something was wrong. "Peony? That's such a beautiful name!"
Jenna smiled again when the blonde appeared to be happy with the result. "It's not as great as it could be, but if you keep using the spell it should dry out soon. If worse comes to worse it dries out naturally!" Jenna was naturally a bubbly person, so it was no surprise that her 'worse comes to worse' comment wasn't as bad as it really could it. She glanced around again before Peony mentioned - or more like asked - if Jenna was a Hufflepuff.
"Yep! My mum was a Hufflepuff, and my dad's a muggle, but if he went to Hogwarts, Mum's convinced he'd be in Hufflepuff too." Jenna explained, smiling widely. "What about you? What house are you in?"

Peony smiled, and giggled when Jenna said that she had to hide things around her house from her aunt. “Well I’m not that bad yet, but I do see that happening at some point in time.” She said with a laugh. Peony noticed Jenna’s smile falter a little but didn’t want to ask what was wrong, because before she could even form the words she was telling her how wonderful her name was. “My mom wanted to be a herbologist, but then she met my dad and well decided to be a stay at home mom, but now that I’m not there much anymore she has picked it up as a hobby.” Peony stated because it was true, but she didn’t mention her dad, because he was a muggle, even though most people in the school knew that.
Peony smiled and said “The last time I had a book wet I used a blow dryer, and well it took forever to get it all dry.” She said with a laugh. She was having fun with Jenna just sitting by the lake talking, and she was letting her book dry out in the sun, as much as it could. ”I like the spell better because it seems to work faster even if you have to use it a few times.” She said with a smile. It would also give her practice to become better at spells and maybe eventually be able to do wandless magic.
“I’m in Ravenclaw, my mom was in Hufflepuff, and well my dad he’s a muggle but my mom says with the way he is good in just about everything he does he would have been in Ravenclaw.” She said to Jenna, this was the first time she openly talked about her father here at school, she didn’t really want to talk about her folks but sometimes she did with certain people. She could relate to Jenna on something’s, like both of their dads are muggles, and their mom’s were in hufflepuff.
