Rose was enjoying dinner with Kable. Her stomach was large and her plate rested on top of it as they sat on the couch. The television was on which she was now use to. The movie the notebook was on and she was trying her hardest not to cry. Kable would probably just laugh at her and make fun of her. She sat there eating, curled up against his side not caring if she was making it hard for him to eat.
"Why do you always choose movies like this?" She asked sniffling slightly before jabbing him in the thigh.
She didn't take her eyes off the screen and her plate was soon finished. She didn't want to but reluctantly stood and moved towards the kitchen. She refused to let Kable do everything for her though he tried his hardest. Once in the Kitchen she put her plate in the sink which started to wash itself. She might be able to walk here but she couldn't be bothered standing there. She also wanted to get back to the movie. She turned and just as she did she felt a sharp pain in her stomach and a wetness on her legs.
Her eyes went wide as she realised what was happening. First thing that went through her was panic. She wasn't ready for this. She wasn't ready. She was happy just been pregnant. Her heart started beating faster and she turned towards the door which Kable was through.
"Kable! Kable! I think it's time!" She cried.

Kable was sitting on the couch eating dinner with Rose beside him, his pregnant fiance resting up against him. He had one arm around her, using his free hand to feed himself as they snuggled together watching The Notebook. Vera loved this movie, and while Kable had barely watched it before as he tended to avoid his dad and step mother making out while watching chick flicks, he had been told it was good. It was why he now had it in, the apartment he shared with Rose filled with the soundtrack of the film.
"I didn't choose it particularly for any reason," he said in his defence, his Australian accent thick, "you said you wanted something good and I heard it's good." He stabbed a piece of meat, forking it into his mouth as he chewed. Kable's other arm which was around Rose hovered protectively on her arm, occasionally, brushing down the side of her belly which was at full size now. It had been 9 months...nine. It was such a scary thought that he'd soon be a father, a dad. God, the Australian male was so nervous yet so excited at the thought!
As Rose stood, her plate empty he went to stand to get it for her but she had already waddled off by that point and he just sighed. He had been having trouble lately with Rose demanding to be so self reliant. It wasn't as if he was trying to suppress her or anything, he just couldn't help but worry about her and their baby whenever he saw her up and about. What if she fell, tripped down the stairs? What if she slipped on the tiles? It was constant nervousness for Kable, but he had to continue to reassure himself that Rose would be ok, that he would be ok.
Hearing Rose's voice from the kitchen his thoughts of injury jumped forward to the front of his mind once more as he shot up off the couch, not caring that his plate fell from his lap and clattered onto the timber flooring. Sprinting to the kitchen he skid in to see Rose staring at him, as his eyes moved down to the puddle which was now around her feet. "Baby...ok," it took Kable a moment to register what was happening before he moved, sweeping Rose off her feet as he made a b-line for the fireplace.
"Hold on sweety, just hold on," Kable said, shifting her slightly so he could grab a handful of green powder as he dropped it into the fireplace, calling out, "Saint Mungos!" Once he felt his feet hit ground, the Australian stepped out into the busy workplace, seeing various people passing by him. "Someone, please! My wife needs a healer!"

Rose heard the clatter of the plate and Kable was suddenly in the room. She couldn't bring herself to smile as he took in the situation, an adorable look on his face. She was so panicked by the fact she was about to become a mother. She was definitely panicking. She then felt Kable pick her up in his arms and for a split second she worried about the fact her water had broken and he would be touching that but then a sharp pain shot through her and she gritted her teeth.
She briefly noticed that Kable was moving with her in her arms and then with a flash of green she was in at the hospital. She heard Kable call for a healer and she realised the pain was subsiding. She then also realised he had called her his wife. She looked up at him and managed a smile. He called her his wife. She then looked up as someone rushed towards them.
She was soon taken to a room, a delivery room and sat in a chair. she had a healer asking if she wanted potions for the pain or if she wanted to stay natural. She immediately asked for the potions, not thinking she would be able to be strong enough to take it otherwise. She had felt jittery ever since she had left Kable's arms though she bit her lip instead of asking him to be at her side.
Another wave of pain rolled over her and she let out a squeak before clamping her mouth shut. She squeezed her eyes shut also. She didn't like this. The potion had numbed it well but it was still strong, they wouldn't do anymore than that without affecting the baby.

As Rose was taken from his arms by a healer he stood for a moment, watching as they took her away. Looking back to the fireplace he paused for a moment, patting himself down as he realised he had his phone. Good, he'd be needing to call his parents as well as Rose's too. They would be eager to hear about the baby. Unfortunately, his father and step-mother were in Australia while his siblings were both at school.
Having seen where they had taken Rose Kable followed, walking into what seemed to be a waiting room which he supposed they'd be waiting while the healers set up a room. He wondered what was going to happen now, this was all new to him. He couldn't exactly ask someone as they all seemed to be rushing about so Kable settled on going over to his fiance who he could see was in pain. Kneeling down beside her as she sat in the chair he brushed the hair out of her eyes, kissing her forehead softly.
"It'll be ok baby...I promise, the pain will all go away later," Kable said, trying to be reassuring. He didn't know what else to say or do so he just took Rose's hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze, his calloused hands rough against her soft skin. Rubbing his thumb across the back of her palm he brought it up to his lips, kissing the left hand which held the engagement band on her ring finger.
This was his fiance, his future wife. He would be there for her, he had to be. Kable knew that in this moment, this was when Rose would need him the most, he would need to keep calm for her. That is if he could stop the pounding of his heart within his chest and his jittery nerves which seemed to keep him on edge. Taking a deep breath he noticed Rose's wince of pain as he ran a hand over her face, cupping her cheek as he breathed out softly, "I'm right here Rose...I'm going to stay right here with you, ok?"

Rose was dealing with the pain when she suddenly felt the air move in front of her. She felt Kable's finger's on her skin and his lips on her forehead. It made a faint smile appear on her lips. His words comforted her, not of their content but of the thought behind it. He was there for her and she knew that. When he took her hand it was as if it eased the pain away as the wave finally stopped. She looked down at him as he kissed her hand and smiled.
She brought her other hand up and cupped his cheek. He was amazing and she loved him more than life itself. She suddenly felt the strength to do this, she suddenly felt the need to give this child to him. Then all too soon more pain starts and she is grimacing once more. She felt Kable's hands on her face as her own hand fell off his. He once again spoke words of comfort. She tried to smile but it didn't work. She clenched her hands into fists, trying to hide her pain. When it started to subside again she looked to Kable.
"I love you." Was all she said before the room was once again a bustle as the healers said it was time to move her.

It made his day that Rose was smiling at him. it gave him that small boost of reassurance that she was ok with all this. Sure, they had been through their ups and down about all this, he had knocked her up accidentally afterall, and her dissapearance for two months had been hard on the Australian. So that one small upturn of Rose's lips let Kable know that she was right there again, she was back, she had come back to him again. She had promised she wouldn't leave again, and she hadn't.
All too soon, the healers were finished with their preparations as Kable was asked to move away from Rose as they moved her to a room. He followed after, his hands in his pockets as he wondered what he could do. Once they were in the room and they had placed Rose on the bed, Kable walked forward again once the healers had dispersed. "Rose, do you want me here with you for the birth?" he asked.
Kable bit his lip, he wanted to be, but who knew if Rose needed him here or not. He knew it wouldn't be a while, she still had to go through a few sets of contractions before the baby finally came so he thought he'd ask now. Bronx, Kable's little brother had been born when the veela male had been 10, so he could faintly recall what his father had told him about what happens during a birth. He hoped everything would go smoothly, it would kill him if Rose was in too much pain.

Rose hated the fact that Kable had to move away. Why couldn't he carry her to the room? Sure it had been slightly uncomfortable the way he had been holding her but she didn't care. She would rather be in his arms. It didn't matter though, she was soon lying on a bed which she found was a lot more comfortable. She almost cried at the comfort but thought that would be stupid.
Kable then returned to her side and asked a stupid question. She almost rolled her eyes, it was ridiculous that he would even ask but then she had been rather independent throughout the whole pregnancy. He probably wouldn't be surprised if she said no. For a second the idea crossed her mind. She could say no and then he wouldn't see her sweaty and screaming and weak. However the idea was immediately dismissed, he would miss the first glimpse of their child, the first breath they ever took.
"Kable." She said through gritted teeth. "Don't be an idiot." Was all she managed out.
It wasn't quite what she had wanted and not as nearly romantic as the thoughts going through her head but talking brought her back to reality and back to pain. The healers had given her a potion to speed up the process so she knew that within the hour, if nothing went wrong, she would have their child in her arms. She was thankful that unlike muggle pregnancies she would not have to endure hours upon hours of labor.
The pain was no full on, no pauses and she reached out, grabbing Kable's hand. She had told herself she wouldn't do this but the male wasn't touching her and she needed some comfort from him. She felt back at the fact that comfort might cost him his hand from her death grip but he would have to deal with it. She had still managed to keep silent throughout the ordeal but she felt that she would have to break that soon.
The healers were arranging her legs and other things that she would rather not concentrate on when one appeared by her side opposite Kable. "We need you to push now." She said and Rose almost burst with joy of the fact this was nearly over. She went to push and that was when she let out her first scream.

It seemed with her words Kable let out a breath of relief which he hadn't known he had been holding. It was something of a comfort to know that he could be there, that Rose wouldn't kick him out. The Australian wanted to be there to see his child come into this world, hear their first cry or hold them for the first time. He needed to see all that, experience it. Hearing her words had him smiling, settling on not saying anything.
Her breathing was laboured and he could hear the pain in her voice when she spoke. He looked down at Rose as she lay on the bed, her face grimaced as he was approached by a healer. The female had thrust a set of green doctors slip on apron as well as a cap to keep his hair back. She had said something about sterile and then threw a pair of rubber gloves at him as well, which he hastily put on as the bustle of people in the room continued to bring in trays and potions.
When Rose took his hand he slipped the mask off his face for a moment, leaning down as he pressed a kiss to her hair, closing his eyes as he paused there, just savouring the moment. This was it. The healer was beside him now, instructing Rose. It had all come down to this day, this moment. Kable was about to be a father, and he was going to be right here, holding Rose's hand for this.
"It's ok baby, come on now, push," Kable whispered to her through his mask which he had replaced over his face at the insistence of the nurse. He dismissed the pain in his hand from Rose's grip, instead just settling on whispering his encouragement to her. "It'll all be ok soon, so push love."

As soon as she started pushing she could focus on nothing else. The world seemed to blur around her as she focused on the task and the pain. She was aware of Kable speaking to her but she didn't really catch what he said. She didn't scream after the first one but she was definitely not quiet. She moaned and huffed and sometimes even swore though she tried to keep that under her breath. She didn't know how long it was that she was pushing, could of been hours, could of been seconds though she knew it was most likely neither.
Then, with amazement and relief, she realised that she was nearly there. She could feel it. She pushed extra hard and with one last, final push she heard a sound that would change her world forever. A cry, one single cry that seemed to be the only sound that reached her ears. She felt her body tremble as the pain slowly started to subside and sweat dripped off her from all the effort but she didn't care. She looked down towards her legs but could see nothing.
She watched as two healers came, one to Kable and one to her. She assumed that the healer was asking Kable to cut the cord and she felt jealousy spike within her. He would see their beautiful child before her. She turned to the healer who was by her side.
"Here drink this. It will start mending your body and it will help quicken it's change back to normal." They said.
She drank the potion not really caring though she froze half way with the words that came out of the healers mouth.
"Congratulations, it's a girl."

It seemed to last forever. That was the only thing that was evident to Kable as he stood by the bedside of his lover, wiping her hair which was plastered to her sweat covered face, listening to her moans of pain and all the while he whispered his words of encouragement. He was sure she could barely even register them but it was the thought that counted. He didn't know how long they had been in there, time itself seemed to slow to an antagonising pace.
He gripped her hand tightly, his larger gloved one easily holding hers as the healers at the foot of the bed continued with their encouragement, shouting out how far she had dialated or how they could see the head. It was an amazing feeling, knowing that his child would be born in mere seconds. Their baby, brought to this world in a miracle of two people, Rose and Kable who in a moment of passion given life to a small being.
Time stood still when a cry seemed to echo out into the white walled room, it's shrill sound piercing Kable so deeply he thought he'd cry. His baby, their baby...their child was alive and theor cries only seemed to add to the reality of the situation. As a healer approached him and said something to him Kable just nodded dumbly, having no idea what he should do so he just followed. They handed him a pair of scissors and he understood. He placed it on the umbilical cord and with one snip, their baby was free.
The healer took the child, dunked it within a tub for a quick rinse before they wrapped the small baby in a pink towel. Pink...it's a girl. Kable felt tears spring to his eyes. He had a baby girl. As the healer approached him, baby in arms he held out his own, accepting the small package from the nurse who just smiled, patted him on the back once before they all seemed to file out of the room to give the new parents time with their baby.
Kable looked down at the baby and his heart quenched at the tiny face. He had never thought he'd be so incredibly happy in his life, other than seeing Rose's face once she had disappeared. Walking towards the bed, he sat down beside Rose, shifting the bundle from his arms to hers. "I'm so proud of you love," Kable said softly, leaning down to steal a kiss from her lips, "congratulations, you're a mummy now."

When the healer moved away Rose lay back, feeling the potion already start to dull the pain. She closed her eyes, extremely exhausted. What was she to do now? She could still hear mulling about but all she could think about was the fact she now had a baby girl. She had a baby girl! A smile graced her lips even though her eyes stayed closed. In this room, most likely with her father, was her daughter. She breathed in and let out the most comforting sigh of her life. She had done it, she was now a mother.
She heard shuffling and opened her eyes. Her heart squeezed and her world stopped as Kable appeared, a bundle in his arms which he soon moved to hers. She looked down at the baby that lay in her arms. She was the most beautiful thing Rose had ever laid eyes on. She had never thought she could love more than she loved Kable but this was something else entirely. Her own flesh and bones were in her arms, not only hers but Kable's as well.
She briefly looked away as Kable stole a small kiss but her eyes went straight back to her baby girl. She smiled at his words but she needed a moment before she could speak. She didn't trust her voice. She had a baby, she was a mother.
"We did it." She whispered before she leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her daughters forehead.
She finally decided she needed to look at her fiance who had been there the whole time. she smiled at him, a weak, exhausted, victorious smile.
"I'm sorry if I hurt your hand and I'm sorry that I look like a mess." She said, stealing another glance at the baby in her arms. "I can't believe we did it. She's our daughter Kable. Our beautiful baby daughter. Ours." She murmured.

Kable looked on with pure adoration in his eyes as he took in Rose with their baby daughter. He knew she'd be a brilliant mother, but seeing it now rather than just imagining it was a whole new level of amazing. She had told him about how she was afraid to be a mother when they had first realised that she was pregnant, and he had reassured her that she would be fine. Looking at her now, Kable knew that Rose was fine, she seemed to be enamoured with their daughter, just as he had his heart stolen once again in the moment he had held her.
"We did...a little baby girl," Kable said in reply, sitting on the edge of the bed, one leg planted on the floor to keep him steady. He wrapped an arm around Rose's shoulder as she held their child, leaning slightly to press a kiss to her temple as he moved to tuck the blankets up around his lovers waist. He brushed back her hair, shaking his head with a chuckle. "It's ok love, my hand will survive. And who cares if you look like a mess. Bloody oath, you can't look like a movie star when you're literally just popped out a watermelon."
Kable smiled as he heard the stunned tone in her voice. It then came as a realisation that he had still yet to call their parents. First thing first though, was a photo. Pulling out his phone, Kable said softly, "babe, look this way and smile." Pressing the shutter he smiled, nodded to himself before he sent off the picture in a text to his father's phone and to Rose's parents fax. He was sure they'd be getting phone calls right about- Kable's phone rang as he quickly pressed the talk button so that their baby wouldn't be startled.
"Honey, it's my parents on video call," Kable explained with a grin, turning the phone to face his fiance with the baby in their arms. "Dad, Vera, say hi to your grandaughter." After a few coos and promises from Vera of grandma coddling their baby, they hung up and Kable dialed Rose's parent's home phone and switched to video call as well, letting Rose introduce their child to the grandparents.

Rose finally, in that moment when Kable said their little baby girl felt tears come to her eyes and roll down her cheeks. If she had known this was what it wold feel like to hold her daughter she never would of had any doubts. She smiled at Kable when he talked about his hand and how he didn't care what she looked like. She still too dazed to pic up on the fact when someone asked you to look and smile it usually meant a photo. She scowled at him.
"Kable I look a mess!" She hissed.
When his phone rang she rolled his eyes, his must of sent the picture to the parents. She was tired and she really couldn't be bothered with long talk. She hoped Kable would realise that. She smiled when the video was on her and answered all the questions until they were finally gone. Then Kable went and called her parents which she had even less energy for.
She heard her mum squeal, shot Kable an annoyed look nothing it was his fault. She talked to her mother for a few minutes before her mum left to her thanks. The room fell silent again and she looked down at her now sleeping daughter. She was an angel, her angel that she would always be there for. A thought then struck Rose and she turned to Kable.
"We need to name her."
