Taking the floo into St Mungo's always left the tall Auror with a bad feeling in his stomach, like knots or a sinking ship. Erik was a recovering alcoholic; he suffered a bad work case about a year or so ago, and instead of dealing with repercussions like a normal adult he drank himself silly every single night. He was admitted to St Mungo's and stayed there for about two months before being released back into work and into normal wizarding society. Now, almost a year later he was back to get his fourteen month chip.
Dressed in his recently overthrown new wardrobe, Erik moved quietly among the waiting patients of the hospital, going to the front desk. "Hello dear how can I help you?" Erik looked at the welcoming witch, and smiled slightly. "I'm here to see Ellie Knight?" The brown haired man asked. "She should be down in a minute, just wait." Came the reply. So, Erik headed for the waiting room, sitting in a chair. At almost six foot three inches, Erik felt cramped in the low-ceiling room.
He sighed and leaned his head against the wall, closing his eyes. Erik wasn't late, but he couldn't be late for work - he had to go in for the evening shift since he took the morning off to come here and get his chip, and of course, to see the lovely Ellie that had tended to him as he recovered from the alcoholism.

Ellie had been making her rounds on her usual patients, checking on them to make sure their recovery was swift and they were actually making progress towards being fully healthy once more. Clipboard in hand she went through all the patients in her ward, smiling at each and making sure she could make them as comfortable as possible. It was her duty as a healer, but more so it was her own wish for them to be as happy as they could being stuck in a bed 24/7. Just like her mother had been, Ellie wanted to be the best healer she possibly could be. As she finished up with her rounds she made her way back to the reception, going to hand in her log of patients and make sure that there was no other patients for her to see. This was because she was going to have Erik come to see her. He had been her patient previously, having been admitted for two months due to having alcohol poisoning from excessive consumption. Ellie had grown quite fond of the giant of a male who seemed to tower over her mere 5 foot 2 inches. She had always been petite, it was why she insisted on wearing heels out, just to give her that extra boost of height so she wasn't so small around everyone. Arriving down in the lobby, Ellie exited the elevator, waving at the janitor who was mopping the floor before she approached the desk. "Hey Julie, has Erik come by yet?" she asked, leaning against the top of the desk. "Oh you mean that handsome fellow? He was asking for you before, he just went to sit in the waiting room for you," Julie replied. "Thanks, oh can you send off these to David down on the magical creature injuries? He'll need to look over some of my patients up in ward 7." Ellie waved Julie goodbye before heading off to the waiting room. Ellie stepped into the room, immedietly spotting Erik who seemed to be cramped up in the tiny chairs. "Hey Erik," Ellie said with a wide grin, crossing her arms across her chest as she leant against the door frame of the small room. Outfit

Waiting had never been Erik's strong point in life. Impatient with nearly everything -if not seriously polite about it- Erik spent most of his time wishing or trying to find new ways to make time go faster. If he had been maybe just a little more paitent with his entire schooling, maybe he would have landed the Head Boy spot instead of just Prefect. Erik sighed and rubbed his temples, the dull pounding of a headache beginning to start. He didn't even want to be here today; he just wanted his chip, and wanted to check up on Ellie.
"Hey Erik," came her voice almost like magic (no pun intended). He cast honey brown eyes over to her and smiled, getting up from his chair and slowly made his way over to her. "Hey there, Ellie. What's going on?" He asked politely. That was probably his biggest weakness; he was far too polite for everything. He had to look down at the petite Ellie, remembering a time when he was laying in bed most of the day and would have to look up at her. He smiled gently, standing there.
(ooc; gah sorry im so tired. less than 2 hours of sleep with a 14 hour work day ><)

Ellie waited as Erik stood up, his tower frame still a shock. She could remember the first time he had walked into Saint Mungos, she had been startled by the sheer height of the man who soon became her patient. His tendancies to drink had done serious damage to his liver and he had been admitted, becoming one of Ellie's charges, and even after his dismissal after recovery he still had to go through her for check ups.
It was safe to say that Ellie had a crush on the older male, especially when he smiled just like he was right now. Her heart raced as she hid her embaressment as he walked over, he was a patient after all. Strictly off limits...well, she told herself that anyway. Ellie knew she had no chance, the man was far too gorgeous to not have a girlfriend, she never asked him if he did, but one could only assume. "Just finished up my rounds and now, of course I have my meeting with you," Ellie replied, standing back as she looked up at Erik, "how about we move this meeting to my office?"
She smiled at him before she turned around, walking down the corridor to the elevator which would take them to the 6th floor where her office was. Stepping in she held open the sliding door for Erik before closing it, leaning up against the railing of the small room. "How have you been?"

"Life must be busy, being a nurse." Erik commented gently, smiling. It was weird how you could connect with someone who took care of you for nearly two months; Erik found himself thinking of Ellie every time someone bought drinks at the Three Broomsticks, and of course of himself when he ordered round after round, often yelling out 'it's on me!', which would lead to more people pushing half empty pitchers at him and telling him to 'finish them'.
Muggles were the best drinkers though.
Erik shook his head slightly before looking back at the nurse who mentioned they should bring this meeting to her office. Only being in there twice before (once at the beginning of his treatment, and once at the very end when he was being discharged), it was odd walking to the elevator with her. Stepping in, he smiled nervously at her, feeling like a child going to the headmaster's office. "I've been, alright I suppose. Still can't go into a bar without the temptation to drink." He replied honestly.
"But I met up with a friend from school the other day and we sat in the Leaky Cauldron and I had water, didn't even think about getting a beer." Which meant he was doing better, right?

"Life as a healer will forever be busy I'm afraid," Lie said in reply although a smile graced her lips, despite her sighed tone. "Considering the fact that we healers go for days without rest is something I think is a pretty proud feat. I think the longest record without sleep in the hospital was 117 hours and the only reason they were even functioning was because they were surviving of pick me up potions and caffeine." She smiled again, she wouldn't mention that she held second place with 98 hours without sleep. "But I'm sure your just as busy, auror and all," Ellie added.
She wondered when this crush on the tall male had first occurred, the realization of it had hit her hard and Ellie was none too happy that she had fallen for a patient. It was a bad image on her, but it also got her into a lot of trouble with her boss who would end up firing her. Elli couldn't risk loosing her job...she loved it far too much.
As they stood in the moving elevator Ellie had to smile as Erik spoke. She was proud of his tolerance and his self preservation which was always something addicts found hard when it came to their addiction of choice, refusal of the substance always being the big step. "Well I'm incredibly proud of how far you have come Erik, abstinence is the key to helping you with your addiction." Ellie explained to her patient, "you did well Erik, good job."
As they finally came to the right level the doors opened with a ping and Ellie stepped out, saying as she walked down the corridor, "this way."

The dark haired Auror chuckled at Ellie's comment. Healers might have the second hardest job in the Wizarding world, next to any one of the Ministry jobs that Aurors had. "It's the same at the Ministry, Ellie." Erik stated. "We usually brew up a few sleep reducing potions and drink them before we get to work on any major assignments." 'Then we'd drink once it's over,' Erik thought to himself. "Although, it's gotten better. We aren't allowed to work on an assignment for more than thirty hours straight, we have to sleep for at least five hours between the thirty hour shifts, if we were pulling them." He wasn't too sure why he was telling her this; most people didn't care much for the Ministry or its workers anymore.
He felt good when Ellie said she was proud of him. He had been working really hard on keeping himself far from pubs and bars and the like, but it was hard when your friends went out on Thursday or Friday night to drink after a long shift and they were always asking 'Erik come with us, one drink won't hurt!' But it would; Erik was in a tender stage of his rehabilitation, and he knew that with his mind being in the place it was now, one drink would turn to two, then to three, and so on until he landed himself back here with what the muggle's would call 'alcohol poisoning'. "It's been tough, but I'm trying. Not slipping up is a lot harder than I thought it would be." He told her.
As she told him to follow her, he did so; walking down the slightly familiar hallway down to her office once again. Erik still got that childish feeling of 'being sent to the headmasters office', when he knew he had done nothing wrong. It was just a simple check up.

"Well you shouldn't take them too often ok?" Ellie said, continuing to explain, "it's easy to get addicted to potions. Just like dreamless sleep is now recommended to only use in small vials and inbetween long intervals." Ellie had been given the lecture all right, about using too many potions. Especially in a job like a healer or an auror where work was pretty much constant, people tended to over use on potions to help them get through the work and their bodies would start to become dependant on them.
"And it's good to hear the Ministry is finally putting some rules into legislation then," Ellie replied. Healers were just expected to know when enough was enough, they were, afterall, people who knew about the human body. On the odd occassion they'd be told to go home but mostly, once one bit of work was done they were told to do the next right away.
"Well it's a good indication on your will power if you've been holding out on drinking, even while you've been tempted," Ellie said in encouragement. She really did want Erik to get out of this addiction, it would be better for his health and his life style. Sure, he wouldn't drink anymore but it'd mean that he wouldn't drown himself to a stupor, like when he had first been addmitted into Mungos. As she entered into her office she avoided the desk, instead moving to the two couches which were facing each other in the corner, a small coffee table in the middle.
Guesturing for Erik to take a seat she moved to a small cabinet which was against the wall. Bending down she opened up a drawer, pulling out two mugs. "Coffee or tea?" she asked, turning on the small kettle which was ontop of the cabinet.
