With her very lax schedule, the red haired Hufflepuff didn't have to worry about getting up too early most days. Many if not all of her classes started after breakfast. Jenna yawned as she rolled in her bed, red hair stuffed in a messy bun as the tendrils of sleep began to pull from her mind. Sooner or later, she'd have to get up. It was going to sooner rather than later, with how quickly she was waking up. Opening her hazel-yellow eyes, the Hufflepuff sighed and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. It was going to be a long day, she could feel it.
Pulling her hair from the bun, she sat up in bed and looked around. Not many of her friends will still sleeping, which was normal because class had started about half an hour ago, maybe more. Scolding herself mentally for not getting up earlier to gloat, Jenna closed her eyes and rubbed her temples before mentally preparing herself. Getting herself ready for the day, Jenna headed for the bathroom to start what she calls 'the transformation'. After getting ready, she exited the bathroom, hair loose in gentle waves and hazel yellow eyes lined in dark eyeliner.
She got dressed into her usual pre-school clothing which consisted of black skinny jeans, a black tube top (which she reguarly wore under her robes) her grey-and-leopard print sweater, and her school shoes, black converse. Also in today's outfit much to Jenna's happiness where 30-some bright neon jelly bracelets, 14 on ont wrist, and nearly 20 on the other. Once she was finished, she fished the always around her neck feather necklace out and smiled. She had gotten that necklace from her grandmother before she passed away.
Heading out of the common room with wand in hand, Jenna headed for the great hall, before pausing. None of her friends would be there... so what was the point in going in? She wasn't even hungry yet! So, instead she began to take a walk, hands shoved in the front pocket of her pants.

Xayne had been up till 4am that day finishing up the marking of the homework which had been assigned to his students. So maybe he shouldn't have put off marking till the last minute. At least now he knew that he'd need to actually start the marking earlier in the night rather than procrastinating by watching the television which had been magically altered to work within Hogwarts.
Television was one of those things that Xayne only remembered from his childhood before he had been put into foster care. His parents had died when their car had spun out on a icy road, having crashed into the barrier which lined the winding road. He had nine and had been patiently waiting at the muggle primary school for his parents to pick him up when the police had come to get him instead. Xayne could still recall that day with every small detail, it was a day he surely never would forget anytime soon.
Since he didn't have a class to teach till after lunch Xayne had decided to sleep on through breakfast even though his presence there was a necessity. Professors always were at meal times, the only reason they wouldn't be was when they were sick. But they could deal with him missing from his usual seat at the long head table in the great hall. Besides, Xayne knew that he could always just go to the kitchens to get food there, the house elves were always more than happy to cook for him.
Finally when Xayne awoke with a yawn he cast a quick tempus charm and was horrified to see it was only morning. Cursing his natural body clock for getting him up early he sighed, settling on the fact that he'd have to get up, because he knew sleep was a lost cause. Pulling on some faded blue jeans and a simple white tee Xay walked out of his assigned quarters, his black combat boots echoing his footsteps on the cobbled stone floor. Making his way to the kitchens he walked past the great hall, not wanting to go in as he feared being reprimanded by the head master on his absence that morning.
Spotting one of his students ahead of him he called out, saying in a fake stern tone, "Ah Miss Jenna, shouldn't you be in class right now?" Xayne grinned though adding, "whatcha up to?"

"Ah Miss Jenna, shouldn't you be in class right now?" Daydreaming, Professor Porter brought her out of her daydream back into reality. "Professor!" Jenna exclaimed, smiling slightly. "Don't sneak up on me like that," The Hufflepuff student said, taking a few deep breaths to calm her now racing heart. Professor Xayne was attractive, but as far as Jenna knew he was both married and a professor, meaning he was totally off bounds. Besides, he used to teach her! Jenna had since dropped DADA in exchange for Astronomy. Nighttime was her time, she found.
"Uh no, Professor. I have mornings off thanks to my midnight classes," Jenna explained, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger, a nervous habit that had developed during her third year. Jeez, she felt so old thinking about it like that. She stopped twirling her hair, instead looking down at her feet, yet another nervous habit she had yet to curb. "But, I do have Charms class in the afternoon." Jenna then said, looking at her previous teacher. His teachings had helped her flourish in Charms, mainly with her wand work.
Jenna bit the inside of her lip. "Don't you have a class to be teaching this morning, Professor?" The Hufflepuff couldn't remember if he still taught in the mornings or not, since the schedule's changed every year. Jenna glanced around the hallway, wondering where everyone else was... not that she didn't mind being alone with Professor Porter, but ... he was so attractive! He was distracting her, Jenna realized with a blush.

"Ah, sorry, sorry," Xayne said apologetically, holding up his hands in apology, "didn't mean to startle you." He smiled at the young girl as they stood in the corridor, feeling a little bad that he had given her a fright, he hadn't meant to. Jenna had stopped DADA as he recalled, not having seen her in a class. He didn't mind though, she had been a good student but everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses and Xayne knew that at least what Jenna had learnt in his class she could use in her others too.
"Hm, that why you dropped my awesome class?" he said jokingly with a small wink and laugh. He was only kidding around, he hoped she wouldn't think he was holding it against her or anything. "Well mornings off is better than having to go to class," Xayne said in reply. When she questioned why he wasn't teaching he grinned happily. "Don't have classes till after lunch too. I made sure most of my mornings were off," he stated proudly. It was a feat that he had done with much pursuading of the Head Master to alter his class around but it had worked out in the end.
"So what are you up to now then Miss Jenna?" Xayne asked, out of courtesy of being poliet.
