Skylar sat on the ledge of the Astronomy Tower, his legs dangling over the side as the wind whipped at his hair. It was well past midnight and the Hufflepuff teen had snuck out of the dorms to get some fresh air. He had been having trouble sleeping, ever since he had returned from the Christmas holidays he had been wondering how he could tell his friends about what had transpired over his few weeks home. The blonde haired male had been hanging out at the local park which some of the neighbour hood kids when his old friend from primary had brought along a mate of his from his high school. As much as Sky would like to say it was a whole eyes meeting and a spark ignites, it wasn't. But there was certainly a level of attraction which he had felt for the green eyed boy. Ben had been his name, and over the next week Skylar had found himself spending more and more time with the handsome male. Nothing had happened between him and Ben but it had been close, something was there but neither male had persuded it, so it had ended with them just being mates. It had been a shocking fact for the Hufflepuff who had only ever had intrest in girls previously, to suddenly find men attractive made him wonder when he had begun to. Suddenly coming to the realisation that you were bisexual is not something that Skylar had expected his holidays to contain, but it had and now he had to come to terms with it and also tell his four best mates. How would they take it? Would they recoil in disgust or call him names? Skylar would be crushed if they had begun to hate him because he had begun to be attracted to the same sex. Sighing to himself, Sky ran his fingers through his fringe, he swung his legs back and forth, the heels of his shoes hitting the stone fo the castle. He heard the door creak as he spun his head around to see who it was, calling out, "Hello?"Outfit

Zahra couldn't sleep, it was insane that Hogwarts had dorms instead of each student having their own- smaller- room in a hall way with other girls in the year. How was she supposed to sleep when there were three other snoring girls in her dorm? It was difficult. She had grown accustomed to the silence. So instead of laying in bed and raging that the girls who she shared a down with didn't sleep quieter Zahra got up to wander the castle. She hadn't really seen much of it yet, she had only transferred to Hogwarts for the start of that term. She walked around, cursing herself for not slipping on a jumper or slippers. Hogwarts was cold. She kept walking, her mind wandering. Despite having to share a dorm and the bitter cold, she really did like Hogwarts. There was no Elite, she didn't have to think about who she was talking to, or what she was saying, or what grades she was getting. There was no one watching her like a hawk. She liked it. Zee walked up to the top of the castle before coming to a door, she pushed it, shocked when she ended up outside. She shivered, wishing she had put on more clothes for the millionth time. The she noticed that someone else was there, they called out to her. "Oh... um, Hi," Zahra said, a bit embarrassed about running into a boy she didn't know, in this state of undress. When she had clearly interrupted his private time. "Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you," She told him, blushing very slightly out of embarrassment. www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=47746626

Skylar was suprised to spot a young girl in the doorway, especially in her state of dress so late at night. It was chilly out and it was even worse up here where the windows were all open letting in the outside wind. He couldn't believe she had walked around the corridors dressed like that. This was Scotland, it was always cold, even when it was sunny out so he wondered why she was dressed so lightly as she was.
"You didn't distrurb me, don't worry," Sky replied with a smile, seeing as she was younger he didn't want to freak her out or anything. Skylar was a good guy, he never really was mean, it just wasn't in him to do so. As he turned back to the scene before him he looked on in silent wonder at the night landscape. The moonlight on the black lake, the trees of the forbidden forest rustling in the wind, it was all captivatingly beautiful.
As he looked back at the girl he once more took in her state of dress and knew she'd freeze if she stayed like that. Shrugging out of his grey jumper he threw it over to her. "Here, you'll die of hypothermia dresssed like that up here," he joked lightly, although there was a hint of seriousness in his voice. It was true, she could catch a cold in just her pajamas as were the looks of the outfit, and Skylar didn't want to be responsible for getting the girl sick cause she was standing about talking to him.

Zahra was shocked that he was so nice to her, saying that she hadn't bothered him. Hogwarts really was the opposite of Beauxbattons. At Beauxbattons she would have been rebuked by such an older student, sent back to bed, either told to report to detention the next day or told she would be reported to the Elite. It really was better at Hogwarts. People were actually nice. It was a refreshing change, she really could get used to Hogwarts. The boy looked back out at the view, causing Zahra to notice it for the first time.
It was breath taking. The lake, the mountains, the forest swaying in the wind, all illuminated by the moonlight. She had never seen something so beautiful. France was different, from Beauxbattons windows she could see fields, they were pretty sure, but nothing like this. Zahra was staring open mouthed when the boy removed his jumper throwing it to her. She was shocked by the gesture. "Thanks," She said when he joked, telling her she'd catch hypothermia, knowing he wasn't fully joking. She pulled it on, it was still warm and smelled nice, like some kind of linx or something. "I didn't realise Scotland was quite this cold." She told him with a smile. "France is much warmer at this time of year, thoughtlessness on my part really." She told him. "I'm Zahra Daven." She told him, holding out her hand for him to shake. "I just transferred here this year."

"No probs," he said in reply as she thanked him for the jumper, "not like I'd want to leave you dressed like that when I was all rugged up warmly would be a bit mean on my part." He shrugged nonchalantly as he continued, "it would be a dick move if I didn't give you my jumper...or so the whole 'be a gentleman' code says so anyway."
"France?" Skylar questioned as she spoke, glad to see that she had put on the jumper without any refusal of the warmth, that was a good sign at least. "Oh, a transfer student. France...so Beauxbatons then?" He asked with a raised brow. Seeing her offered hand he leant back from his seat, shaking her small hand as he replied, "Skylar James, pleasure Zahra."

She smiled when he brushed off her thanks, he was sweet, a gentleman apparently, the idea of a gentleman was one she was accustomed with. The boys were supposed to be gentlemen back at Beauxbattons, they really weren't though. None of them would have offered her their jumper like this. The older boy's jumper drowned her, she was a skinny girl anyway, her figure could in no way be described as womenly. "Well thank you, anyway," She smiled. "It's nice to known that gentlemen actually exist." She smiled.
She nodded when he asked about France, he had obviously not heard about there being a transfer student before she mentioned it because he nodded, a little surprised. "Yeah, Beauxbattons," She said, accidentally slipping into her perfect French accent. "It's a bit different to Hogwarts." She told him with a smile. When he told her his name she smiled, feeling his, much bigger, hand shake hers.
"Skylar," She said with a smile. "Interesting name, not a Bob, Jim and Frank name." She grinned, joking with the older boy. "The pleasures all mine." She said, her Elite instilled manners kicking in.

Skylar continued to swing his legs, slightly spread on the stone he was perched on, his hands pressed agaisnt the flat of the ledge either side of his body, steadying himself. Some people would have thought he were crazy to be sitting up so high but Skylar liked it, it was refreshing to get some fresh air into his lungs and let the cool night wind keep him awake as it whipped lightly at his skin. "Oh we exist, just alot of us are in hibernation at the moment, just have to wait a while until we grow older then we come out to suprise everyone with our impecable manners."
The Hufflepuff male hadn't heard anything about there being a transfer student. It wasn't that uncommon for students to come and go, so no suprise there. "Hogwarts is a little bit more on the lax and casual side than the conservativeness of Beauxbattons." He had never been to the school in France but he had heard more than enough stories to know about the posh and high class school. Skylar was sure that if he had attended he would have been shunned, he was far from high class and a whole other world away from following a heirachy, he had never been one for following the social rules of society.
Sky was the type to make a joke at an inappropriate time yet still get people to laugh. He was all round the joker of the group, the jester of sorts yet he still managed to be serious when it called for it. "If you think that's interesting you should hear the whole name," he replied with a laugh, "my parents never were ones for mainstream." As he shook her hand he grinned before dropping it, turning back to the look out.
"So what brings you up here so late Zahra?" he asked.

Zahra smiled when Skylar informed her that there were plenty of gentlemen out there, they were just in hibernation until they were old enough to come out and shock the world. She laughed a little, the older boy was amusing, clearly a joker. She wasn't that accustomed to that type of boy. Boys she could remember from childhood were rough and scary, boys at school were snobby or tried to get in your pants. This polite gentleman joker was something new. She would quite like to be friends with someone like that. "Well any in my age group are definitely still hibernating!" She told him with a laugh.
She nodded when Skylar said that Hogwarts was more lax than Beauxbattons. "I'd say," She said, the disbelief in her voice. "You have no sense of order within your year groups or school hierarchy!" She said, as though this was just something everyone in the world expected. "Though I must admit, despite having to share a dorm with three other girls, one who snores like a troll, Hogwarts is much better than Beauxbattons." She said. "There's no one checking up on you to make sure you don't talk to people you're not meant to." She smiled.
Zahra laughed when the boy claimed that his parents weren't really into mainstream. "Hipster parents?" She chuckled. "I would love to see your baby photo's then." She told him, not even wanting to imagine what Hipster parents would be like. Then he asked her what she was doing out so late. "Couldn't sleep." She told him. "The girls in my dorm will be the death of me. So instead of murdering them in their sleep, I decided to go explore the castle." She shrugged her shoulders, sitting down with her back against the wall. "What about you?" She asked.

"I'm sure they are, you have to get past that douche bag stage all guys go through before they can emerge from whatever cave they've been living in," he said with a laugh. He wondered what year she was in. She looked younger than him, and she definetly wasn't in his house of Hufflepuff as he would have seen her around the common room. "So what house are you in? Never seen you around before so you musn't be a 'Puffer like me," he asked.
"There isn't supposed to be order within a school, your education is a time for chaos and desruction," he said with a wide grin. "Hogwarts is definetly the best place in the world!" He looked a little taken aback when she spoke, his brow raised in suprise. "Someone checks up on you? God, that must suck! There would be no time to do anything fun at all! Sounds like your school is a killjoy."
"My baby photos are awesome, I got gold chains and everything," he said jokingly with a wink, "they dressed me totally gangsta." He chuckled to himself, the thought of his parents having swag amusing him to no end. His parents were your average Jack and Jill, just plain jobs and a average lifestyle, nothing too exciting or nothing too grand. Just average, and that was what Sky liked. He lived in a normal neighbourhood and had friends and it was just the thing he needed. No drama, well except for his recent discovery.
"Pretty much the same, couldn't sleep either," he replied, "only reason anyone would be stupid enough to come up to the Astronomy Tower so damn late at night." He grinned as he looked over his shoulder and down at the girl now sitting against the wall.

Zahra chuckled at the older boys words, pushing her hair back off of her face, smiling at him. He was sweet, cute aswell, but from the looks of things a bit old for her. He had the self assured thing that came with age, no one in her own year had that. He was probably a grown up. She smiled when he told her he was a 'Puffer' she assumed that meant he was a Hufflepuff. "I'm a Slytherin, actually," She said with a smile. She was sure that the reason she got into that house was because of the Elite, they taught you to be sneaky.
"Well I look forward to seeing this chaos and destruction, I hope to be involved in it!" Zahra smiled, she really hoped that he was telling the truth. He looked shocked when she said that someone was sent to check up on you. "That might have just been me," She told him, a little embarrassed. "I was the youngest member of the Elite, so they kept tags on me.... it wasn't great, but it was better being with them than against them." She told him, hoping that he wasn't aware of the Elite, their importance, or what it meant when they kept tabs on you.
She laughed when he mentioned his baby pictures. "They sound amazing, little baby Skylar in chains, was there a gangsta hat as well?" She asked. She wished that he parents had actually bothered taking more than one or two baby pictures. They just hadn't really cared enough to bother.
Zahra wrapped her arms around her knee's listening to the older males reasons for being out so late. "It's really pretty up here though." She said. "I could understand staying up to see this view." She told him, staring at it.

"Oh, so you have slithered from the snake pit," he said with a grin. It wasn't supposed to be a mean statement, Sky was actually aiming for teasing, he had no qualms against other houses. Well, except when it came to Quidditch, then that shit was on. House rivalries was something which had never been a big thing for Skylar, considering his friend group came from all four of the houses, he and Ollie being in Hufflepuff while the other three boys were scattered about in the houses.
"Just you wait, it gets pretty hectic, rubble flying everywhere with debris littering the place," Skylar said with a serious tone, although the curl of his lips betrayed his amusement. "Casualties up in the hundreds, students against students, professors tied up and jinxed in the broom closests, pretty much all out battle royal." Skylar grinned cheekily. He loved that movie, it was so friggen awesome. The Japanese old version mind you, where all the school kids have to fight each other and only one can come out victorious. Brutal movie, Ben had actually shown him it over the holidays.
"The Elite? What are they, the rich snobby kids or something? Sounds like purebloods to me," Skylar said, a little bit confused. He had never really heard too much about the inner workings of the other schools as Hogwarts and them rarely intermixed too often, except for the Tri Wizard Tournament and even that had been something which Sky read about in History books. It hadn't been on for many years, Skylar just hoped he'd one day see it happen at school.
"Hat, defs fo sho!" Skylar said, his pathetic attempt at being Ghetto landing more comical than serious. "It was purple and fuzzy, like Willy Wonka's hat." Skylar loved old muggle movies, they really were amazing, he had been hooked on them since childhood, he loved the ancient ways of DVD playing and even going back so far as VCR tapes, something which his dad kept as antiques. Skylar had been suprised they had even worked, even if they were a little grainy and fuzzy at times.
"Yeah, it really is breathtaking..." Skylar echoed back to the young girl within the tower. It was peaceful, relaxing, something which Sky desperately needed. He needed to just unwind and unload and just take some time to just chill.
