Jamie was still as he looked into Abby's eyes, the girl having faced him also so that they were facing one another. When he felt her lean into the hand he used to brush a stray lock of hair from her face, his heart beat jumped as he felt it thump within his chest. What the hell was wrong with him? Jamie mentally shook himself from his confusing feelings as he turned to face the wall again, his head swarming with thoughts which only made to irritate him as they all pointed to one fact.
Jamie was nice to Abby. He, Jamie Daven was actually being nice to a girl no doubt. It made him feel as if he was loosing himself in her as she wouldn't do anything but stand there and Jamie would already jump in to save her or help her un-neccessarily. It was as if something inside had woken up and had begun to care for this girl in the brief time he knew her. Something naggled at his brain as he recalled hearing some girls once talking about 'soul mates' or some other weirdo shit like that, but he pushed that thought away hastily as he deemed it to be utter stupidity.
No way in hell, that's just fucking bull..." Jamie thought to himself, pulled back to reality as he heard Abby speak. Turning to face her, he saw her shiver and pull his jacket around her tightly. As he frowned to himself, he shuffled over across the bed towards Abby, opening up his arm closest to her as he said, "come. You're cold." He patted the spot beside him as he waited for the girl to lay in the gap between his body and his outstretched arm.
There it was again. The need to help her. Jamie had again done it without thought but as he waited patiently for Abby to move, he didn't mind the fact, because then she would be warm. He was only trying to stop her from freezing, right?

There it was again. The need to help her. Jamie had again done it without thought but as he waited patiently for Abby to move, he didn't mind the fact, because then she would be warm. He was only trying to stop her from freezing, right? Jamie was facing the wall. Abby just lay there, it was quite a cold night, she shivered beneath Jamie’s leather jacket and cursed wearing such little clothing in Scotland. She should have known it would come back to haunt her!
Abby looked at the boy before her, he was facing the wall. Abby was a little bit gutted, he didn't seem to like her- not that Abby could blame him! She had been nothing but bother to him since he found her. Yet part of her looked at him with shining eyes, with adoration, he was her knight in shining armour. He saved her, then looked after her, he didn't need to! Heck most people would just have turned a blind eye! But not Jamie.
Jamie turned back over, he scrutinised her with his eyes, as though he was looking for something. He ordered, her to him, claiming she was cold, his voice not leaving room for argument, he lifted his arm expecting her to move into the gap close to him and his body heat.
"No, no," Abby whispered. "It's fine, I don't want to be a bother." Abby told him, looking down at the bed. Half of her wanted him to argue, the other half... well she wasn't really sure what that wanted.

Jamie watched as Abby whispered out that she was fine, but by her slightly flushed face and the way she still clutched at his jacket which was around her, Jamie deduced that she was lying. Abby looked down at the bed covers and Jamie sat in thought. Well, she said no right? Jamie should just leave it at that...but he didn't want to. He felt his guts twist at the thought of Abby becoming sick or something because he hadn't done anything to aid her, then it would be all his fault.
Glaring at the wall behind Abby as she sat in the bed beside Jamie, he resolved himself, knowing that he might make the girl pissed but didn't care. Reaching over with one arm, Jamie wrapped it around the slim girls waist, pulling her over forcefully until she was beside him. "If you get sick or something it's my fault," Jamie said in explanation, reaching down to pull the covers up to his waist and tucked them around Abby. Turning to her, he gave her a stern look as he said, "just stay...I won't hurt you."

Abby was aware of Jamie glaring at the wall behind her, it made her feel small and vulnerable. He seemed mad at her refusal, she just didn’t want to be a bother. She looked down, not wanting to meet his gaze. She felt an arm reach out around her waist. It pulled her forcefully until she was trapped against his chest. It was warm and Abby felt comfortable. It wasn’t a bad place to be. Her face was pressed against his chest.
Jamie informed her that if she got sick it would be his fault. He seemed to be explaining to Abby why he had moved her. Jamie pulled the covers up so that Abby was covered. “It really wouldn’t have been.” Abby told him. “It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have been out so late anyway. Not on my own. I didn’t want to put you out.”
Jamie gave Abby a stern look, it turned her insides to jelly and made her stomach drop in a way that only happened to her when she was in trouble. Telling that to stay, that he wouldn't hurt her, Jamie was insistant. Abby just nodded, she never thought he might hurt her.She yawned. “I know. Sorry for ruining your night.” Abby murmured into Jamie’s chest subconsciously rubbing her face closer like an over tired toddler.

Jamie was deaf to Abby's rebuttles as she said that it wouldn't have been his fault. That wasn't how he saw it though. Jamie shook his head mentally. What was his problem? He was already taking care of this girl, and even thinking about her welfare without even knowing her for an hour. Checking his watch which was around his wrist, the time showed that they still had a while until sunrise.
At least tommorow is sunday, Jamie thought to himself, thankful that he wouldn't have to get up and get this girl back to the castle in time for classes. He himself probably wouldn't have gone, but the girl beside him in the bed seemed to be the studious type.
Jamie felt Abby press up against his bare side, her warmth which radiated off her warming the half naked man. He felt her murmer against his chest as he shivered slightly, the breath from the girl sending goose bumps over his skin. What the hell, what kind of reaction was that? Jamie inwardly scolded himself for his bodily functions as he sighed at the girl, his hand reaching up to tangle in the girls silky blonde locks.
Jamie turned his head to the side, looking down at the girl was was laying beside him, sighing as he pulled her close to him, murmering out, "you didn't ruin my night...it wasn't all that crash hot in the first place." Jamie didn't know what his mind was thinking, but his body moved on it's own to have his lips pressed against the girl's forehead, kissing it breifly before pulling away.

Abby lay snuggled in Jamie's arms, she was perfectly content, wondering why she hadn't been doing this longer. It was the best way to fall asleep ever. She was grateful when he told her that she hadn't ruined his night, she would have felt guilty if she had. Crash hot? Abby wasn't really sure what that meant, but she assumed it meant that his night wasn't all rainbows and sparkles either. That wasn't how the real world worked, Abby guessed. The past few months had been testimony to that! But Abby was hoping she could get her life back together now. And the boy, this almost man, seemed to keep her at ease. Something she hadn't been in a long time.
Abby felt him press his lips against her forehead, a comforting gesture. To Abby it seemed that he was trying to prove to her that she had not ruined his night. She was in a whirlwind of emotions. Did that peck on the forehead mean that he liked her? No. No of course it didn't. It was a completely platonic thing. He probably didn't even realise that he did it. Abby should really stop over analyzing things. She resolved. A bird chirped from somewhere outside the shack and Abby noticed the first rays of gray morning light creeping through the curtainless windows.
"Night." Abby whispered, closing her eyes and basking in the warmth that she shared with Jamie. After everything that happened, it had ended up as a good night.

Jamie couldn't believe he had done it, he was mentally smashing his head against his mental wall as he murmered internally to himself about what a stupid git he was being. Although, he soon noticed that Abby didn't pull away nor did she push him away in disgust so he may have done something right? He was so befuddled by these strange feelings towards the Ravenclaw girl, never having experience anything like it before.
He had a hunch that he might know what it was, but Jamie refused to believe it. No way, no fucking way, I couldn't have...no, no way in hell, Jamie thought as he tried to convince himself that these feelings were all just a lie and that he was perfectly normal. Then why did I kiss her? What the fuck Jamie, you are such a dick! Jamie mentally scolded himself, shaking his head.
When Abby whispered out to him, he felt his arm unvolentarily tighten around her, his arm muscles tensing before he relaxed, closing his eyes himself before falling asleep, very aware of the soft breath against his skin and the warm body beside him.
